Optimal Concrete + Bricks Combo Farm

TL;DR

Decoded from farm_configurations.csv -> S-tier Clay Brick Farm on Rocky Ridges. Two small huts at opposite ends of the yard (>12 tiles apart) so habitat humidities don’t fight: Paldean Wooper on a Marshy/Hydrated tile with an indoor 3D-printed Humidifier (range 3), and Trapinch on Dry tall grass with zero water decor. The neutral central station hosts the Concrete Mixer, 3D Printer, Charmander’s burn kiln, and a Community Box, all inside a 12-tile Gather radius. Pupitar runs #crush at the Mixer; Charmander runs #burn for Bricks. Power via Mini Power Generator (range 3) or a stabled Electivire. Daily manual chore: drop Limestone + Water Bucket into the Mixer — Wooper’s #water litter may substitute, but source data does not confirm (flagged below).

Expected output

Not derivable from data on disk. Use:

  • Bricks/h = Charmander burn-cycle rate x clay-litter throughput, bottlenecked by Gather pickup in the 12-tile radius around the Community Box.
  • Concrete/h = Pupitar crush-cycle rate at the Mixer, bottlenecked by your daily manual Limestone + Water restock (or by Wooper #water litter rate if substitution works).

See missing_data.

Comfort setup

Wooper hut (Water/Ground type comfort, “Lots Of Water” favorite from pokemon_favorites.csv #117): Temperature Cool 3-5 C, Humidity 4-5, Light Normal, Flavor Salty. Furniture: Humidifier (powered, inside), water-themed decor.

Trapinch hut (Ground type, “Lots Of Dirt” favorite #237): Temperature Hot 7-9 C, Humidity 1-2, Light Normal, Flavor Bitter. Furniture: dirt pile / sand decor; no water decor.

Central station: comfort not material for Pupitar/Charmander unless you want the multiplier; keep Light Normal/Bright.

Setup steps

  1. Survey Rocky Ridges for a Marshy/Hydrated patch and a Dry tall-grass patch at least 12 tiles apart (so habitat radii cannot overlap and fight over humidity).
  2. Place Wooper small hut on the Marshy tile, Trapinch small hut on the Dry tile.
  3. Build the central station midway: Concrete Mixer + 3D Printer + Charmander kiln + Community Box clustered within ~3 tiles of each other.
  4. Drop a Mini Power Generator (range 3) next to the Mixer/3D Printer/Humidifier path, OR stable an Electivire there. Mixer + 3D Printer + Humidifier all need electricity (automation_devices.csv).
  5. 3D-print a Humidifier and place it inside Wooper’s hut — range 3 covers the whole small-house interior. Verify humidity reads 4-5.
  6. Bring Pupitar (Medium, won’t fit small hut) to live near the Mixer. Bring Charmander to the kiln. Both must be inside the 12-tile Gather radius of the Community Box.
  7. Brick chain (automated): Wooper/Trapinch litter Squishy Clay -> Gather -> Community Box -> Charmander burn -> Bricks to storage.
  8. Concrete chain (semi-auto): each day drop Limestone + Water Bucket into the Mixer. Pupitar crushes -> Concrete.
  9. Substitution flag: brief claims Paldean Wooper’s #water litter can replace the manual Water Bucket. Source data does not confirm: pokedex.csv #117 only lists “Litter”; items_enriched.csv has no row tagging water as Wooper litter; #451 Concrete Mixer recipe just says “water and stone”. Test in-game; if true, the Concrete chain becomes fully automated.
  10. AFK sanity check: every device inside Gather radius (12 tiles) of the Community Box; the >12-tile spacing is for the two huts, not the production cluster.

Alternatives

  • Crush Farm (A-tier, Rocky Ridges, farm_configurations.csv): Trapinch + Pupitar + Electivire, Concrete-only. Drop Wooper/Charmander if you don’t need Bricks.
  • Brick Factory (S-tier, Palette Town, afk_farms.csv): Machamp/Graveler/Golem/Onix, Crush + Burn + Build. Late-game, much higher throughput, no humidity conflict.
  • Concrete Factory (A-tier, Rocky Ridges, afk_farms.csv): Machamp/Graveler/Onix variant for Concrete-only mid-game.
  • Ore Smelter (S-tier, Withered Wastelands, afk_farms.csv): Charmander + Geodude + Machop early-game; Bricks fall out as a side product alongside Iron Ingots.

Source data

  • farm_configurations.csv row: Clay Brick Farm, Rocky Ridges, S, "Wooper, Trapinch", "Charmander, Pupitar", "Concrete Mixer, Humidifier" — manual_steps: “Wooper and Trapinch need separate small houses. Humidifier for Wooper. Manual water + limestone.”
  • automation_devices.csv: Concrete Mixer (Utility, Electricity, range 2, Semi-auto, “Place manually. Add water + limestone.”); Humidifier (Utility, Electricity, range 3, Full, “Place near conflicting Pokemon.”); 3D Printer (range 1, Full); Mini Power Generator (range 3, Full, “Powers adjacent devices”); Community Box (range 1, Manual).
  • items_enriched.csv #22 Brick, #29 Concrete, #451 Concrete mixer, #1034 Limestone.
  • pokedex.csv: #4 Charmander/Burn/Tall grass, #117 Paldean Wooper/Litter/Marshy tall grass, #170 Pupitar/Crush+Bulldoze/Tree-shaded pink tall grass, #237 Trapinch/Bulldoze+Litter/Pink tall grass.
  • pokemon_size.csv: Wooper Small, Trapinch Small, Pupitar Medium, Charmander Small.
  • pokemon_favorites.csv: Wooper “Lots Of Water”, Trapinch “Lots Of Dirt”, Pupitar “Hard Stuff”, Charmander “Exercise, Group Activities, Lots Of Fire”.
  • habitats.csv: Rocky Ridges “Smooth Tall Grass” (Dry Tall Grass x4) -> Geodude line; “Furnace Spot” (Metal Drum + Furnace) -> Combusken/Blaziken (closest analog to Charmander burn station).

Missing / future research

  • production_chains.csv referenced in the brief is not present in /tmp/pokopia-data — substituted with items_enriched.csv recipe descriptions and afk_farms.csv core_loop notes.
  • No per-hour throughput numbers anywhere in source data.
  • Paldean Wooper #water-litter is asserted by the brief but unconfirmed by data. Treat the manual Water Bucket drop as required until verified in-game.
  • “Water Bucket” is not an item row in items_enriched.csv; exact in-game name unconfirmed (Concrete Mixer description just says “water and stone”).
  • habitats.csv has no “Pink tall grass” row — pokedex.csv names it for Trapinch but the placeable habitat equivalent is “Smooth Tall Grass” (Dry Tall Grass x4) under Rocky Ridges.
  • Humidifier outdoor-effectiveness penalty (game rule: outdoor effects at 50%) is sidestepped by putting it inside Wooper’s hut; not explicitly confirmed in data.
  • Charmander’s kiln has no discrete row in automation_devices.csv; assumed to be a Furnace placement (cf. Rocky Ridges “Furnace Spot” habitat).
